One:
For our bracelet we used 2 lengths of the cord. One, which will be in the middle, should be 14 inches long. The other cord should be 4 feet long. Use masking tape to adhere the shorter cord to a hard surface such as a table. Tape both ends about 3 inches from the end.

Two:
Slide the 4 foot cord under the short cord with 2 feet on each side. The cord on the right will be referred to as A, the middle cord as B and the left cord as C. See Diagram #1.

Three:
Bring cord A under B and over C. See Diagram #2. Bring C over B and under A.

Four:
Tie the knots starting at alternating sides, starting with the cord that is pointing up. Pull cord snug to create knots. See Diagram #3.

Five:
Make 6 to 8 knots before adding beads. To add beads, string the bead onto cord B and slide it up to the last completed knot. Tie as many knots as desired (we usually use 3 or 4) and then add another bead. See Diagram #4.

Six:
Hint: if the bead will not slide easily onto the cord, apply glue to the end of the cord and allow to dry. Cut the end into a point using sharp scissors.

Seven:
When you have added the desired number of beads and your knotted area is about six inches long, tie another 6 to 8 knots. Slide a briolette bead on one end of cord B and tie an over hand knot. Trim and dot with glue. Repeat on the other end of B. See Diagram #5.

Eight:
Cut the cords A and C close to the last knot and glue the knot and both cut ends. Allow to dry. You may need to trim the ends twice. Make sure you have added enough glue to prevent unraveling. See Diagram #6.

Nine:
To make the sliding knot closure, lay the bracelet down with the ends of B laying in opposite directions. See Diagram #7. With a foot of cord left over from A or B, tie the first half of a square knot. Make a series of knots, about 6 to 8. Glue the end of the last knot, let dry and trim the ends of the cord. Glue again to prevent unraveling.
